The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has opened up the 2025-2026 Special Education Model Policies and Procedures survey for completion. All educational agencies are required to upload verification of local school board approval of related policies and procedures for the education of children with disabilities for the 2025-2026 school year through the Monitoring System by Nov. 30. The Special Education Model Policies and Procedures with noted changes is available on the Department’s Operating Standards and Guidance webpage.
- If an educational agency completed this action for the 2024-2025 school year and it was approved by the Department, this educational agency can resubmit the same documentation from the 2024-2025 school year.
- If an educational agency did not complete this action for the 2024-2025 school year, the educational agency will need to determine if they will adopt Ohio’s Special Education Model Policies and Procedures or create their own. Follow the steps for adoption outlined in Ohio’s Special Education Policies and Procedure Submission Process.
