Ohio’s new Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (Integrated MTSS) framework is designed to deliver effective instruction and supports that meet the academic and non-academic needs of every student, including those who are at risk for not meeting grade-level expectations as well as those who are ready for instruction beyond grade-level expectations. The framework will inform and support districts and schools in strategically integrating and aligning academic and non-academic services and supports for all students and serve as a guide to enhancing and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of current systems work in districts and schools across Ohio.
Ohio’s Integrated MTSS framework includes key student learning and adult implementation components shown to improve student outcomes. Student learning components include universal screening, data-based decision-making, a continuum of supports, progress monitoring, and team-based problem solving. Adult implementation components include shared leadership, professional capacity, and communication and collaboration.
Additional information and support materials will be available on the Department’s website throughout the fall.
